Before you do anything, note this: This topic is only about VST Instruments. There is a seperate topic about VST Effects!

Since MODPlug Tracker is able to use VST instruments, people get more into using them. There are sites like kvraudio.com that is dedicated to providing free vst's, as its for payed ones too.

The question is: Have you played with an interesting VST latelly and want to tell everyone about? Then this is the topic to do so.

Here's a little template you can copy to use for your reply.

Name of VST:
This VST does:
Quality:
License of this VST (and costs):
Link to VST or site:

explaination:
Name: this one is obvious i think...
What it does: You can enter a short description or function, like: strings, softsynth, soundfont player
Quality: How do you rate the soundquality of the output? (HQ, MQ, LQ, possible specs like 44khz, Mono, etc)
License: Freeware, shareware, buy, etc... (shareware = download for try, buy is only download after payment) and ofcource if there's a price, how much it costs!
Link to VST or site: Provide us with a link where you can download the vst. If its a commercial one you can point the download to their website with price info etc.

List of gathered plugs:
(none so far...)

Name of VST: sfz
This VST does: sampler(can use soundfonts)

Name of VST: LightBag II
This VST does: Emulation of the famous Hammond B3 organ
Quality: Excellent, you can get some really nice bass sounds for house music out of this one. Also just a good all around organ for any type of music. Sounds better than Native Instruments B4 emulation in my opinion.
License of this VST (and costs): Free
Link to VST or site:
This page seems to exceed it's bandwidth limits pretty regularly, so if you can't get it just PM me and I'll send you a copy.

Name of VST: z3ta+
This VST does: Waveshaping Synth
Quality: Excellent, the best synth for trance I've used so far. This synth is good for basses, leads, pads, strings and just about anything else you can think of. A definite must have if you're into making trance. I usually wouldn't post a review for a synth that's not free, but this one really caught my attention. The technical specs are too numerous to list here, but if you're interested go to
http://www.kvraudio.com/get/306.html
It's sound quality is fantastic and CPU usage is quite reasonable considering the number of features that it has. It also comes with over 1000 presets so there's something for everyone.

Name of VST: Claw
This VST does: Synth (Analogue / Subtractive)
Offers a variety of nasty basses and synths and is really easy to use. 32 presets included.
I myself often use it for acid-basslines or heavy jungle synths.
Just add a mdaSubSynth and your tunes will go berzerk.
Quality: Low CPU usage + typical reFX quality
License of this VST (and costs): freeware

Name of VST: Polyvoks Station
This VST does: Emulation of the classic USSR synth Polyvoks
Quality: Haven't experienced any slowdown, the interface is simple and flexible enough.
License of this VST (and costs): Free
Link to VST or site: http://y0u-file.narod.ru/Polyvoks.htm

A nice one for techno-esque sounds, and fun to play with, has 2 32' to 2' octave oscillators, a filter with ADSR/cutoff/resonance, stereo delay and modulator. Personally, i like its glissando function. The synth itself (hardware) is often been called "The Russian Minimoog"
